TARCIIS — Technical Assistance Resource Center for IIS

WELCOME to TARCIIS, AIRA's new initiative developed to provide peer-to-peer technical assistance to immunization information system projects in key programmatic, operational and technical areas that present barriers to IIS performance improvement.

What are the key priority areas?

  • Provider participation
  • Data use
  • Data quality
  • HL7 implementation
  • Core functional standards
  • Data exchange/interoperability
  • MIROW implementation
  • Vaccine management
  • Research and evaluation

What forms of technical assistance are available?

Technical assistance may be provided in several different ways, depending upon the request, available resources, and what will provide the best outcome.

  • In person site visit
  • Conference call consultation
  • Online resources (tool kits, how-to guides, etc.)

Who is eligible for technical assistance?

Technical assistance is available to any immunization information system project and immunization program.

How is AIRA's technical assistance administered?

  • When an IIS or immunization program needs technical assistance, they need to make a written request to AIRA using the online TARCIIS Request Form using the link below. The request is evaluated by AIRA staff, the TARCIIS Advisory Committee Chairs, and a member of the TARCIIS Team. A decision will be made as to whether the request is appropriate for TARCIIS intervention. If it is not, the requestor is informed.
  • If the request is appropriate, a proposal document is written up with input from AIRA staff, the TARCIIS Team, and subject matter experts (SMEs). This document outlines the issue or need, the proposed intervention, scope, duration, resources, method of evaluation, and responsibility of the requestor. This proposal document is reviewed by the TARCIIS Advisory Committee and the requestor. Once all parties are in agreement and the document is accepted, the intervention is implemented.
  • A final evaluation report is written by the requestor and those involved in the technical assistance implementation.
