VMBIP, VTRCKS -- Vaccine Management
VTrckS Update -- 6/20/08
CDC internal planning for VtrckS began June 4th with the first meeting of the core subject matter experts (SMEs). The SME group is being coordinated by the VTrckS project team and will meet two to three days a week for the next several months. The SME group includes two public health advisors from California and two consultants representing the grantees, Therese Hoyle (former Michigan immunization information systems manager) and Barbara Laymon (former North Carolina vaccine manager). A complete listing of the SME group will be published once it has cleared the CDC document clearance approval process.
AIM and AIRA will also be working with the CDC VtrakS team leader, Janet Kelly, to maintain regular updates and communication about the progress of VtrckS. Monthly open calls with AIM and AIRA memberships will feature updates from Janet Kelly and discussions and presentations from external members of the SME group. The open calls will also allow grantee representatives to discuss their vaccine management practices using immunization information systems. These monthly calls will be sponsored by CDC with agenda development through AIM and AIRA representatives.
Documents related to VtrckS will made be available whenever possible on the VtrckS website. However, all documents posted on the website must go through CDC clearance so more immediate communication will take place through the monthly open calls. In the future, weekly updates may be found on the VTrckS page section of the VMBIP website and/or via the VMBIP newsletter.
The formation of a VtrckS Grantee Advisory Committee has also been proposed. The specific role, function and membership of this committee is currently being discussed with CDC. Additional information will be released as soon as possible.
