AIRA Will Give Two Pre-Conference WorkshopsAIRA is pleased to announce the pre-conference workshops that are scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 26th at the 2003 Immunization Registry Conference in Atlanta, GA. These workshops are designed to provide you with an interactive experience, lessons learned and skill development. This year we will be focusing our efforts on provider participation and data quality issues. Data quality is critical to provider participation. Without data that are accurate, timely, and complete, providers have little incentive to share their immunization data with a registry, or to rely on the registry for data. The workshop focused on data quality will address methods to ensure that registry data meets the registry’s commitment to the stakeholders. Achieving Quality and Completeness of Registry Data will be a hands on, problem solving workshop, providing an opportunity for participants to learn from each other and explore various approaches and methods to defining and meeting completeness and accuracy requirements. Participants will develop their own data quality plans. This workshop will take place from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm and a brown bag lunch will be provided. Immunization provider participation is critical to the success of Immunization Information Systems (IIS) and to achieving the Healthy People 2010 immunization goal of 95% of children from birth through age 5 enrolled in fully functioning immunization registries. With that in mind, the focus of the provider participation workshop is: Building Provider Partnerships: Using Marketing Strategies to Promote Your Registry. This workshop will be an opportunity for registry staff to learn effective and successful marketing strategies and techniques to maximize recruitment and retention efforts and build and expand support for the registry within the community. It will be held from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm, with light snacks provided. Look for more information about workshop fees and how to register on the AIRA web site at www.immregistries.org during August. But in the meantime ... SAVE THE DATE and plan to attend. (Source: Cindy Sutliff, AIRA Executive Director) |
