Immunization Registry Conference – October 18th to October 20thThe theme of this year’s IRC is “Healthier Lives Through Sharing Information.” What topic could be more relevant or timely for immunization registries? Make plans to attend the IRC in Atlanta, GA and get connected with over 400 immunization registry partners. The three days of plenaries and workshops will cover such topics as data standards, system integration and PHIN, bioterrorism and preparedness, provider recruitment, vaccine inventory and management, and data use. The IRC is the perfect venue to exchange ideas and collaborate with immunization registry professionals from the local, state, federal and private sectors. Plan to arrive at the IRC early and attend one of AIRA’s pre-conference workshops. These workshops are scheduled for Sunday, October 17th. This year AIRA will be offering three workshops. Workshop #1, Use of Immunization Registry Data, will run from noon until 3:00pm. Workshop #2, Standards 101, and Workshop #3, Immunization Registries and Preparedness, will run concurrently from 3:00 – 6:00pm. Online registration for these pre-conference workshops will soon be available on the AIRA web site, www.immregistries.org. AIRA’s Annual Meeting will also take place during the IRC. It is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th, from 5:30 – 8:30pm. The program portion of the annual meeting will focus on immunization registries and electronic medical records (EMRs). It is sure to be an interesting program. Just a reminder: early bird registration, $150, for the conference itself runs only until August 20th. After that date and until October 1st, registration will be $175. Late and on-site registration will be $200. Don’t procrastinate, register for the IRC today!
