AIRA Invites State and Local Registries to Announce Their Conferences in SnapShotsRegistry topics discussed at conferences held locally or at the state level are often of interest to other registries, also. AIRA will be happy to include information on statewide and local conferences in SnapShots, if registries would like to invite broader participation. AIRA will also post the information on our website (http://www.immregistries.org/), if you want. Gary Urquhart of CDC NIP proposed the idea of announcing the conferences and AIRA thinks it is a good one. (Thanks, Gary!) Attending other project meetings would not only inform the registries of work in areas of mutual interest but might lead us to share best practices and to increase collaboration in the development and operation of registries. Staff who are unable to attend the Immunization Registry Conferences or other national meetings might be able to attend a meeting in an adjacent state. If you wish to announce a local or state conference in SnapShots, please send the following information to SnapShots@hln.com: Conference Sponsor, Conference Title, Date, Place, Agenda or Brief Description of Topics, and Registration Instructions. Note whether you would like the information to be posted on the AIRA website as well. SnapShots is published bimonthly and the next issue will be coming out in June. Deadline for getting your conference announcement to us for the June issue is June 1, 2001. In general, conference information is due by the first of the month of publication.
