AIRA Committees and Workgroups
Standing Committees
The Executive Committee directs the operational affairs of AIRA. This committee is chaired by AIRA President, Sherry Riddick.
The Nominating Committee is chaired by Amy Metroka.
The Education Steering Committee works to determine and address the educational needs of the AIRA membership and the IIS community. Co-chairs: Amy Metroka and Mary Beth Kurilo.
The Data Exchange Standards Steering Committee coordinates the work of the three Data Exchange Standards Workgroups. Chair: Shawn Box.
Data Exchange Standards Workgroups
The Messaging Workgroup supports existing HL7 and emerging message definition work as required by the CDC/NVAC for immunization registry data exchange compliance, and in response to registry project needs. Co-chairs: Alean Kirnak and Emily Peterson-Stauffer.
The Data Definitions Workgroup will review, develop and document a common set of data element definitions, vocabularies and code sets required by immunization registries. Co-chairs: Rob Savage and Kelly Pearson.
The Transport Layer Workgroup will focus on providing information, resources and expertise and will develop a set of transport layer recommendations that will serve as a guide for immunization registry use. Co-chairs: Angel Aponte and Kevin Davidson.
Ad-Hoc Committees
The Provider Participation Steering Committee works to develop marketing strategies, resources and tools to support provider recruitment and retention. Co-chairs: Sherry Riddick and Mark Sawyer.
The PROW Steering Committee is responsible for the successful implementation of the PROW "Standards of Excellence." Chair: Anne Cordon.
The MIROW (Modeling of Immunization Registry Operations Workgroup) Steering Committee will apply business modeling principles and practices to specific immunization registry operations. Co-chairs: Warren Williams and Elaine Lowery.
