Education Steering Committee (ESC)

ESC promotes standards and best practices via educational activities.


The ESC promotes standards and best practices through informational and educational activities, using both face-to-face meeting opportunities as well as electronic communications methods. See the ESC Charter for more information about this committee.


The ESC includes experts from state and city IIS, IIS implementers, public health organizations, and CDC. The ESC co-chairs are Jenne McKibben and Katie Reed.

The ESC meets the third Wednesday of every month from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET (10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. PT). Meetings are also listed on AIRA’s events calendar.

ESC Resources for the IIS Community

2017 Education Survey Summary Report: In early 2017, the ESC surveyed IIS and immunization program staff as well as IIS partners to assess the educational needs of the community. This report includes an analysis of the survey results, which will be used to guide the development of new resources and educational opportunities, many of which are provided through ESC.
