August in Indianapolis – There's No Better Place!

Pack up your AIRA tats, brush up on your guidance document stats, and get ready to learn how Indianapolis puts the “heart” in “heartland”!

Next month, AIRA serves up its famous content with tracks on measurement and improvement, funding of IIS, outbreak response, data quality, and a host of other IIS-focused topics. Keynote speaker Paul Zikopoulos, vice president, Big Data and Cognitive Systems at IBM, will kick off the event by sharing future trends in public health.

On Tuesday night, we will recognize AIRA’s 20th anniversary and celebrate everything we’ve all accomplished along the way.Libations, appetizers, and dinner will be served. Dress code is business casual or casual, your choice.

Then, on Wednesday, come on down and experience the return of fan-favorites: a new gameshow mashup and rapid-fire roundtables. You’ll need a few coffee tokens to keep up!

This year, you can plan out your own session itinerary using the handy AIRA National Meeting app. Use it to figure out who is speaking when, locate a particular room on-site, and view the most recent #AIRA2019 tweets, plus so much more.

Even with oodles of relevant, actionable content, the AIRA National Meeting will not be the same without YOU! So join us August 13–15, 2019. Visit the National Meeting website to register and learn more about #AIRA2019.

AIRA 2018 Annual Report Now Available!

AIRA's 2018 Annual Report is now available! We hope you enjoy reading through and reviewing AIRA's highlighted accomplishments. AIRA would like to sincerely thank those who volunteered. Without their time, input, and effort, AIRA would be unable to achieve its mission and vision. AIRA largely credits its success to the collaboration of its members.

New MIROW Releases

The Modeling of Immunization Registry Operations Workgroup (MIROW) Steering Committee (SC) has released newly developed and repackaged MIROW materials.

For the past year and half, MIROW has been piloting a new process to repackage and reformat a previous MIROW guide to improve readability and make the guide more user friendly for the IIS community developed and repackaged MIROW materials.

In addition, MIROW sub-workgroups developed:

  • Stand-alone common vocabulary  materials to serve as a consolidated reference source for terms used in MIROW guides.
  • A consolidated guide that provides a description of the MIROW development approach and tools used to develop all MIROW guides, past and future.

Measurement & Improvement Updates

Join us on Wednesday, August 14, from 4 to 5 p.m. during the AIRA National Meeting in Indianapolis! Congratulations! Join us in celebrating the amazing successes in Measurement and Improvement (M&I) since 2015 and in recognizing those IIS that have achieved Validation in one or more content areas.
