AIRA is excited to announce the next offering of the Provider Organization Onboarding for IIS training series! Registration for the course will open February 5, 2024, and sessions will be held weekly on Thursdays, March 14, 2024, through April 18, 2024, from 3 to 4:15 p.m. ET. Course Description

This series will provide a live, instructor-led, six-week course meant to build and enhance your capacity to conduct provider onboarding in alignment with best practices and recommendations. Weekly sessions will include a deep dive into each step of the onboarding process as well as provide opportunities to respond to onboarding scenarios and identify possible enhancements to your jurisdiction’s onboarding processes and documentation.

The course will draw on and highlight recommendations from two key AIRA guidance documents: Onboarding Consensus-Based Recommendationsand the Data Validation Guide for the IIS Onboarding Process. 

It also includes a review of several AIRA Onboarding Templates and tools developed to help participants put these recommendations into practice.

Targeted Audience

This course is designed for jurisdictional immunization information system (IIS) staff responsible for activities associated with the provider onboarding process (i.e., IIS staff responsible for activities associated with establishing an electronic interface between a provider’s electronic health record (EHR) system and an IIS). Individuals interested in this course should have a basic knowledge of HL7 and provider organization onboarding. AIRA’s IIS Orientation to Provider Onboarding: Resources Checklist serves as a starting point for staff who are new to an IIS onboarding role or interoperability as it relates to immunization messaging. This document provides an annotated list of resources for IIS staff to use in support of their provider-onboarding process.

IIS managers and other immunization program staff may also benefit from participating to better understand the IIS activities involved in the onboarding process.
