IIS Data Quality: New opportunity to measure data at rest (DAR) among IIS

AIRA, CDC, and MACAW (the Measurement and Assessment Certification Advisory Workgroup) are pleased to announce the launch of the Measurement and Improvement (M&I) Initiative Data at Rest (DAR) Assessment content area this week!

DAR measures the quality of data residing in the IIS, regardless of how it arrived in the IIS database. M&I will assess participating IIS against 45 community-selected measures across three key concepts: completeness, validity, and timeliness.

As of fourth quarter 2022, 98% of IIS jurisdictions participate in at least one M&I content area. AIRA has updated IIS participation and sharing settings in AART (Aggregate Analysis Reporting Tool) for DAR Assessment based on current business rules. IIS admin users for all M&I participants are encouraged to review and update their participation and sharing settings in AART regularly and adjust them based on their discretion.

IIS jurisdictions interested in participating in DAR can learn more here and submit any questions via AIRA’s technical assistance request form.
